   As Minnesota's Baseball Greats take their last at bats in the game of life, we pause to remember  those who played the game, those who worked as support persons and those who promoted the game with their media venues. This abbreviated history records their achievements and contributions to the sport. Entries below are as submitted to Minnesota Baseball Greats by friends and relatives.

Standout player and manager in W-M with Fairfax and New Ulm Brewers.  High School teacher and coach.  St. Olaf College Athlete of Year 1937.  Originally from Westbrook, MN.  Semi-pro baseball Mankato 1940. Also played Worthington.  Playing shortstop with Minneapolis Millers, fall, 1944 (American Association), until breaking leg in game collision with Babe Barna. Owned sporting goods business in New Ulm after leaving teaching.

MLB Hall of Fame 2001. Began major league career 1984. Retired 1995 as 10-time All-Star.  Over 12 seasons batted .318 with 414 doubles and 207 HR, scored 1071 runs and drove in 1,085 runs.  Received baseballs Roberto Clemente Man of the Year Award for community service in 1995.
