Complete individual game write-ups and box scores for all games played during 1943 season of Western Minnesota baseball league. Included were stats etc. on pitchers like Charley (Lefty) Johnson, Claire Strommen, Frank Pugsley, Mel Wolter, George Kober, Uchanski and others.
1943 game also featured is the umpire missed tag at second base when umpire George Bullock ruled a batter safe even though he had his back to the play. A ruckus followed that require some police involvement. Bullock was barred from umpiring in New Ulm until 1989 when the 75th anniversary committee for Johnson Park issued a formal pardon as part of the festivities. |
