In 1963 the Luther Rams were Minnesota's only undefeated high school basketball team according to Prof. Jack Gronholz who was a team member. The New Ulm Journal printed a picture of the squad which hangs in his office. The negative has been misplaced so we'll have to try to reproduce the picture from Jack's copy.
If that happens, here is the Journal caption back in 1963 ... probably at the end of March?
FORMING NUMBER 19, Which represents the games won in posting an unbeaten season, is the New Ulm Luther High School basketball team. Personnel includes, front to back, in No. 1 - James Tjernagel, John Tjernagel, Robert Schroer, Louis Sievert and Max Radloff. forming No. 9, front to back and counter-clockwise, is student manager Carl Eisenman, Quincey Wiley, Al Jeffers, Jack Gronholz, Coach Harold Kaiser, James Duehlmeier, dale Walz and Eugene Cook.
