Searles Bullhead and visiting Slayton Barnstormers agreed in advance that if their game was tied at the end of regulation seven innings, it would be ended there.

ST. JAMES - New Ulm Jr. Legion will compete in the Southwest sub-district for VFW state playoff competition beginning this weekend at St. James. Six teams are in this tournament.

SIOUX FALLS - New Ulm Jr. Legion took runner-up honors in the Sioux Falls Classic 16A tournament over the weekend.

For the first time in five years, the New Ulm Gold American Legion team failed to win more than one game in the prestigious 64-team Gopher Legion classic.

TWIN CITIES -- New Ulm Gold fell 11-2 to Edina in the opening round of the 48-team Gopher Classic Amercian Legion tournament Friday night.

The big stories in the Tomahawk League East this week might have been soley's Lamberton's third loss and the tight race in the National where Hanska won.

Finally, after a early season session of weathered out games and waiting for field developments, the Searles Bullheads will play a couple of home games this weekend.
