Both Hanska and Kaiserhoff lost first round games in Region 4B playoffs in amateur baseball Wednesday night while in the Tomahawk Stark took the series from St. James to advance to the regional.

Three players representing former New Ulm state champion VFW age baseball teams helped send off the New Ulm Junior Legion team to the state tournament starting Thursday in Austin at 11 a.m.

NEW ULM - The New Ulm Brewers and Springfield Tigers split two close games to open their Tomahawk East playoff series.

Tomahawk playoff third game deciders Tuesday night saw New Ulm Brewers edge past Springfield 3-1 and Searles nip Leavenworth 4-3 to advance to the regional and set up drafting and seeding games tonigh

Commissioner Bryce Pack of Lamberton has announce the Region 2C playoff brackets in which the remaining Tomahawk East League playoff teams will contend for two state tournament berths.

Tomahawk East League playoffs have moved quickly to already qualify Lamberton and Essig for the regional playoff format while the season is over for Gibbon, Sleepy Eye and Redwood Falls.
